What is the Shop and Display Equipment Association (SDEA)? Answer – A growing organisation providing access to a large number of key Shop and Display equipment suppliers in the UK and now internationally.
This year Alan Pegram (CEO Global Display) took up the role as the new president of the organisation, and he explains why the SDEA is so important;
“I have always believed that being part of the right association or group is essential if you want your organisation to prosper, what ever industry you are in.”
Providing a comprehensive package of sales leads, savings and services is at the core of the benefits from being a member, but beyond that with plans to expand internationally the scope to network on a large platform will bring joint benefits for the industry as a whole – a thought shared by the new president:
“To be on the Executive Council ensures that I have some say in what the association is doing for its members as a whole. To be president allows me to lead the association to better things which will ultimately be good for all of us.”
With a wide range of members across multiple disciplines, shop fittings, visual merchandising, POP, graphics and displays the wealth of expertise and experience benefits from the endorsements, discounts and leads that the SDEA generate and together have a stronger voice within the retail community.
In addition to this the organisation regularly holds talks and events bringing together leaders in both retail and non-retail world to provide inspiration, ideas and opportunities. The latest event held at the Material Lab in London (a great place to discover new materials and finishes) showcased new products from Formica, an inspirational talk from Jonathan Stanger (the co-founder of Raise the Bar) and Rachel Scott (Retail Design Expo).
