Inspired by the iconic disco era of the 70’s and the famous Studio 54 nightclub the Christmas windows for Harvey Nichols feature over one million glitter flakes and 15,000 gift boxes to dramatic effect.
The main windows which form 3D faces when viewed from a distance are constructed from a variety of props, materials and mannequins providing a multi-layered visual feast for the eyes – with something new to be discovered every time they are viewed.
In keeping with the shimmering theme a bespoke glitter finish was specially created for this contemporary scheme, the results of an intensive development process by the team at Global Displays London studio – and like every good Christmas story requiring a secret ingredient to provide a truly unique finish.
All of the mannequins were renovated at the London Studio, with bespoke wigs and make-up being applied and manufactured onsite. The central location allowed the Harvey Nichols team to easily visit and develop the concept alongside Global Displays team of artists and craftsman to ensure their vision was accomplished with spectacular results.
