Joys of Spring
Luxury retailer Harvey Nichols and London based artists, Hsiao-Chi and Kimiya Tsai-Yoshikawa have collaborated on a vibrant window scheme, ten years on from their first project together.
In celebration of the joys of Spring, the display features ten of the original fixtures taken from the ‘Futuristic Flowers’ design that adorned the stores façade in 2007.
Compiled from 108 boldly coloured aluminium cutouts which were fabricated by the Global Display workshop and then hand bent into 3D organic forms and hung with multi-coloured metal chains. Each window features an original piece of art from the duo, creating individual art installations in each of the windows.
Made from thin sheet aluminium the laser cut shapes were carefully machined from flat sheets, before a special UV impregnated paint finish was applied in the London workshop. This creates the glowing effect once illuminated within the window displays.
“Their sculptural artwork brings the windows to life, offering a unique and abstract view on Spring florals.”
